Why wait?

Just sitting in the "jam" room at my house wondering something........

Why is it that this forum of brothers and sisters who share a love for these fine instruments wait a year to get together to jam with our collections of cool guitars and amps? Seems that I was looking at the large map at the barn party and there are a bunch of members who live within a couple of hours or so of each other.

Any interest by those close enough or willing to drive to Mid-Michigan (Owosso) to have an all day into the night jam? My band practices at our drummer's barn, I own a PA (already set up there), have a bass player that would surely love to jam with us......

As the weather here is still nice, maybe we could get several of us to bring an axe, a favorite amp, and a few songs to play. Maybe in early November, nothing formal....What do you folks think? Any interest?

I can line up the place, equipment, a drummer, a bass player, and some hot dogs/ burgers and beverages.....just an idea. I met some really nice folks at PSP who share the love of these guitars and music, it'd be a shame to wait until next August again since we are a short car drive away.......

Food for thought.

Matt, we have various chapters of the HOC, Midwest, Southeast, Northeast, Northwest, Southwest, etc. Well, not really. But there has been talk of doing this in various localities. Steiner has jams at his house occasionally. Wish I lived closer to Michigan sometimes. Did I meet you at PSP? I can't place your name with your face.

I've had this thought as well regarding local chapters. Anyone in NJ, metro NYC or Eastern PA interested?

I know I\'ve mentioned regional HOC gatherings before' date=' but its never materialized...[/quote']

For me, doing much of anything is very, very difficult. Between work, school, three kids and their school...I\'m lucky I have time to sleep.

The closest HOC member to me is at least 4 hours away, so there's no chance of me getting together with another member on a regular basis.

I wish I could get together with some fellow HOC or any Heritage owners really, but I'm all the way down in Brazil. Very few people know about these wonderful guitars here.

There's quite a number of us here in Southern Michigan who are withing driving distance to Owosso. November bumps into huntin' season, but otherwise, I'm in.

Blunote, you can give up your weekend dear-hunting trips to play guitar can't you?

Grubber - I'm in! That's a fantastic, giving offer. Let me know what I can bring/furnish.

Maybe deer hunting........but not bird hunting.

As a outdoorsman, I can see the dilema in a jam day/night. But there are two things I like better than hunting--and one of them is playing guitar.

Here's the format--I'll set a date in early November, it'll be an all day and into the wee hours thing. If you can make it, GREAT. If not, then come for as long as you can or show up after dark (remember, it gets dark at 5:30 in November)....or just don't make it, this time. My hope is to have some fun, play some music together, share some laughs, grab a few "pops" and not wait until next August to jam. Maybe it could be a beginning of the Michigan Chapter, or maybe just a fun jam day with fellow Owner's Club folks. Nothing too formal, just fun.

I'd love to have guys/gals from out of area come out--but understand if they cant. But there are several of us within a relatively close drive to jam for a day.

Stay tuned for a date and we'll see who can make it.........

Well, it is closer than Kalamazoo by about 3000kms in a straight line.

Saturday, November 3rd is the date!!! Just cleared with my drummer (and his wife most importantly) ....and bass player. So the date is set and the location is set (5 acres--large modern pole barn with electric, heat, refrigerator, a true man cave for musicians.....plenty of parking, nice piece of property right on M-52, just south of Owosso, easy to get to, I-69 to M-52, thats it). I'll supply food (being football season I'll have Brats and Burgers, and other tailgate type food) and beverages. And I'll have a television so we can watch Michigan State chew up the CornHuskers. And catch other "lesser" Michigan football highlights as well, in case you are one of those fans.

Everyone is welcome, if your willing to come out and jam....(as witnessed by me first hand at PSP, there will probably be some horse trading happening too). Bring your guitar and an amp if you want, I have 4 nice amps that will be set up and available for anyone, and a few tunes to jam.....

Now who's in? Check your calendars and we'll go from there....
