heritagefan7 Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Not bragging on me though!---I'm a poor vocalist and a mediocre guitarist that hopes to one day be passable...but (posted the details in another thread) I got the chance to do a solo gig recently w/ my 574 and as bad as the singing and playing were--the git was just amazing! It was a big room w/ abt 300-400 people present. I played an original upbeat blues/spiritual thru my Vox vt 50---every (positive!) comment after I played was on the sound and look of the guitar. The floating block combined w/ the body size & the stock Schallers created the perfect sound for the genre and I got absolutely no feedback from the amp. The K'zoo folks are one again, my heroes! Bad picture--but great git!
kidsmoke Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Great news! Glad it went well. Yet another positive comment on the Schallers. Gave a set a decent go round for the first time last week in PK's 140, and they sounded absolutely fantastic, particularly clean. More and more, any heritage that begins 57X is really catching my attention. Beautiful guitar H7. Keep an eye on it with Slammer so close though.....
JeffB Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 That is a cool looking guitar. Nice to get positive comments.
heritagefan7 Posted August 28, 2012 Author Posted August 28, 2012 Keep an eye on it with Slammer so close though..... LOL!....Thx Kidsmoke....Slammer is the man!
koula901 Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 : ) That's great, H7. Gorgeous guit., by the way.
Guest HRB853370 Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 LOL!....Thx Kidsmoke....Slammer is the man! The man with NO GAS!!!
kidsmoke Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 The man with NO GAS!!! Me thinks thou dost protest too much.
PunkKitty Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Beautiful guitar. I don't think I've ever seen a 574. And yes, the Schallers in my 140 are really, really nice.
skydog52 Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Very cool you could do this solo gig. I'm sure you where better than you think. Great gig report and great guitar.
Hfan Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Good for you Heritagefan, that is quite an accomplishment as a solo act, large crowd and all. And more Schaller love, never thought I'd see the day. They do have a certain clarity to them that I like, I find it hard to explain.
TalismanRich Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Don't sell yourself short, Rusty. Without you playing it, its all show. You provide the "go".
heritagefan7 Posted August 29, 2012 Author Posted August 29, 2012 You all are so great--but it really was the git and the moment. I really did dig it though--now I really wanna learn to sing!--Oh yes--another hobby that i need to jump into and that i'll never have time for. Tell you what, any vocalists out there that wanna kick it---let me know and it'll be a...PAR--TEE in S--C!!!!! Thanks again for the kind words---The HOC really is awesome!
DetroitBlues Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Nice job, have fine tools makes the job easier, but it takes talent hands to make it work... That's all you my friend!
heritagefan7 Posted August 29, 2012 Author Posted August 29, 2012 Nice job, have fine tools makes the job easier, but it takes talent hands to make it work... That's all you my friend! In my case, the hands---i'm on the road--MAYBE i can get there someday. The voice though...LOL! Maybe I'll just go the Joe Satch route!--again LOL!
