PunkKitty Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 He only heard fables of H-357's. I can't afford it. But I asked him to get me a quote for one. I'll sell a few to afford it if I have to. But I want one before Marv stops building them. And if I order now I might be able to pick it up at PSP VI. He had to call his sales rep to find out if they truly exist. The sales rep assured him that they do, but production is very limited. They had a couple of beautiful Heritages in stock. Just two. But they were beautiful specimens. I really liked the VSB Prospect. The burnt amber 157 was really nice too. I'm tempted. So many guitars, such limited funds.
Guest HRB853370 Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Yes, I dont think Marv turns out more than half a dozen a day!!
DetroitBlues Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Yummy, burnt Amber! Oh yah! Slammer asked Marv at PSP and Marv told him three year waiting list... But who knows, could of been pulling his leg...
High Flying Bird Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 It took 2 1/2 months to get mine but I think it was all luck to go so fast.

That's how we do things down here---complicated takes too much time and it's too hot most of the time to mess w/ that!

gpuma Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 I totally understand PK. PSP had the same effect on me. Had I not just bought a new home my order would be already in.
High Flying Bird Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Marv through you a bone cause your also from B'ama. I didn't want to bring that up but, yep. If you carry a photo of you and a friend in front of the Gibson Store in Nashville holding a 550 and a 535 and a bottle of red Alabama dirt you might get better service.
High Flying Bird Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 This is what I've noticed since I've been in Alabama. ya'll - singular - Ya'll want some more coffee? There is no y'all singular. That's the biggest mistake. Joe will be home Friday. Be thereeeeeee........
koula901 Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 But I want one before Marv stops building them. Smart kitty!

You could take the "sink or swim approach". Submit your H-357 specs with your choice of pickups, finish, and so on, talk your dealer into a low deposit, and, if the price sounds right, go for it, with the idea that somehow you will have the cash when your instrument is ready.
HANGAR18 Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 I was too scared to ask how much that new one delivered at PSP5 cost. Definitely an awesome looking guitar!
JackBaruth Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I'm kind of deliberately not ordering a third one so some of you guys have a chance to get yours
DetroitBlues Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Very kind of you Jack... But money talks though...first come first serve if we like it or not...
blueox Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 "I'm kind of deliberately not ordering a third one so some of you guys have a chance to get yours " Now, there's a true gentleman!
ezra1 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I really like that photo of the guys outside the G#@*#n shop....
