2bornot2bop Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Meet #37 in OSB, with a SD Seth Lover. She's found a new home!
FredZepp Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Awesome !! I love the look of OSB finish on archtops. And I bet it sounds like heaven.
MartyGrass Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I saw that at Wolfe's. I like that it has a single pickup and that it is a Seth Lover. The guitar is beautiful. I am mystified that the bridge base is upside down and that Jay shot the pics that way. The guitar will work with the base in either position, so it's not important. Still... Great purchase.
2bornot2bop Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 Thanks all! The guitar came with TOM bridge installed, but fortunately arrived with the ebony bridge as well. I'll be installing the ebony bridge and will turn the base around at that time. Great eye as usual Mark!
Ned Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Very sweet indeed. Is it time for a family portrait? Seems like you've been busy tracking down some fine instruments.
2bornot2bop Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 Very sweet indeed. Is it time for a family portrait? Seems like you've been busy tracking down some fine instruments. Absolutely time to shoot some new pics. This was a late middle of the night "couldn't sleep" find at G-base. So many G-base guitars I've previously called on were sold, but to my surprise this one was still available...surprising since so few have been produced...musta been meant 2b. 2b
Gitfiddler Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Another amazing archtop find!! I was eyeballing that beauty earlier this morning on Wolfe's website! Glad you got it. Play it in good health.
sakis26 Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Great guitar isnt't it?I bought the same one (its the nr.013) in blonde with two pickups a week ago from MartyGrass (thanks MG ).What really surprised me was that even with the built-in pickups the guitar has a VERY loud acoustic sound,of course it has a spruce top not a laminate one which contibutes a great deal to the resonance but i've never experienced something like that with other 18'' archtops with built-in pickups i had in the past.Did yo noticed the same thing?Anyway enjoy this beast in good health!!!
heritagefan7 Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Wow!...beautiful git. Gbase has always been a staple for me. Enjoy! She's gorgeous!
golferwave Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I love the finish on that one...another winner from Kalamazoo!
Kuz Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Greg, is you SKB with one pup based the same as a two pup SKB? Nice catch!!
Keith7940236 Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Congratulations on your newest. That looks like an awesome guitar. I'm still getting acquainted with the Mahogany Eagle, I'll sent you a PM next week with my impressions.
yoslate Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Thanks all! The guitar came with TOM bridge installed, but fortunately arrived with the ebony bridge as well. I'll be installing the ebony bridge.... More a blues guy than jazz cat, I thought the TOM would be best on my super Super. Wrong! First string change, I went to the ebony. Much, much better tone! That's a honey, 'bop! Good snag!
2bornot2bop Posted September 9, 2012 Author Posted September 9, 2012 Greg, is you SKB with one pup based the same as a two pup SKB? Nice catch!! That would be doubtful, unless the dual pup design was also X-braced. Obviously not, for the dual has to be parallel braced. This single is X-braced, which is a big part in what drove me to acquiring it...that and I'd been curious to sample a single routed pup Heritage of any kind. Thanks brother!
2bornot2bop Posted September 9, 2012 Author Posted September 9, 2012 Congratulations on your newest. That looks like an awesome guitar. I'm still getting acquainted with the Mahogany Eagle, I'll sent you a PM next week with my impressions. Keith, very kewl. Your acquisition helped make this one happen. Thanks again, and enjoy that keeper. Can't wait to hear your interpretation of it!
