Kuz Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 There will be no drilling in the headstock, no new tuners.
Kuz Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 I think you should keep greeny as is and buy one of those superior GMoore guitars... Step up in class! That a boy, stir that pot, Guy!!! LOL Actual, if I ever get a job and he comes down a little more, I might have to invest in the greatest guitar ever made. I wonder if the guitar comes with GM's puke all over it too.
Guest HRB853370 Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 If you already have other options a your finger tips, why not? Beats spends money on another guitar. Go for it, you've of nothing to lose. And for the record, when it comes to plastic pickguards, the Heritage doesn't do it for me either. Am I mistaken the older Gibson like pickguards they used smaller then actual Gibson's? Heritage pickguards are boutique works of art. Instead of straight lines, like Gibson PG's have, they have smooth flowing curves. Perhaps feminine but very stylish.

DetroitBlues Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 well said sir. The custom wood pickguards, yes. The plastic single ply ones, no.
bolero Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 I think it'll turn out great Kuz, you have an amazing collection of Heritages...each one is stellar!! I really like the goldtop siblings
Hfan Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 I want a wooden pickguard for my 150, Heritage shape would do fine. That is on an already too long list of wants. I agree with the no drilling aspect Mr Kuz.
NoSnowBlower Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 sweat the details..Plastics are all different colors.Body binding, fingerboard binding,p.u.rings,pick plates, headstock binding.ect...BE CAREFUL.Also, don't forget knob indicators ,and get ride of the black screws in the p.u.rings..They are horrible. AWESOME 150 though. Can't wait for new pics

Kuz Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 UPDATE...... The project has begun and there is no turning back...... - Gibby style pick guard ordered (matching pup rings will be ordered if the pick guard doesn't match) - Two new CTS Super Vol pots (because my soldering is aweful) for RS guitar works - Push/Pull tone pot for out of phase middle position (when pulled out, other wise I finally get to enjoy the traditional mid two pup position) - Sending my Throbak PG-102 Neck pup back to Jon Gundry to have the magnet flipped back to normal position and four conductor wire for the push/pull pot - Ordered a Faber ABR locking bridge to retro fit into my Nashville insert studs (no drilling and completely reversible) I need to look into getting some nickel/chrome pickup ring screws..... Pics in a couple weeks!!!!
FredZepp Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 I've done a few changes to a few of mine and am pleased ....

That would be my favorite of the options on the Page wired 157, the push pull that I would pick to keep.
NewGuy Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 There will be no drilling in the headstock, no new tuners. but it is ok to drill into the body for a pickguard ? you might want to think about 'steel' studs and longer lengths for that ever lovin'~ tone to the bone!
Kuz Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 but it is ok to drill into the body for a pickguard ? you might want to think about 'steel' studs and longer lengths for that ever lovin'~ tone to the bone! Yep, drilling for the pg is perfectly fine for me on THIS GUITAR. I have other guitar where it would not be appropriate.
Kuz Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 horses for courses I guess my point is almost ALL '59 burst have a pick guard, and that is the look I am going for. I am choosing a Gibby pick guard because Heritage builds it's 150s just like the old vintage LPs were made so I have no problem putting a Gibby pick guard on my "vintage" throw back '59 clone.

ROCK ON !!
Kuz Posted September 16, 2012 Author Posted September 16, 2012 Well, crap the "Historic Spec" Gibson pickguard is not even close to the color of my binding or pup rings. SO it will be returned and I am true the "Pure" Gibson version. If it doesn't work, then I will order new pup rings and a PG from the same aftermarket source. I am pretty sure I ordered "Pure" Gibson parts on the other 150s.
