big bob Posted September 13, 2012 Author Posted September 13, 2012 But seriously, I've been busting strings left and right lately. I have all my solids and the 555 strung with 9s. I like 9s, slim but still there. However with the addition of the memory man and the borrowed soldano gto I've been having a lot of fun with pick attack and palm muting and harmonics, well, and lots of other high gain stuff. I also know that sometimes I pound the poo out of the strings.. Two strings with in 45 min of each other. Not the same string either. Strange!!!
DetroitBlues Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Where at on the guitar? Near the nut? On the bridge? Or the bigsby? My old 140 schaller tailpiece had a bur that would cut the high E string. A bit of shrink tubing on the string at the tailpiece fixed my problem until I replaced the bridge and tailpiece.
