MartyGrass Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Here are two videos that provide the background. Maudie first worked for Gibson. When she developed her fame for inlays and engraving, she started her own business. She continued to do high end work for Gibson and expanded to Martin, Heritage and others.

MartyGrass Posted September 13, 2012 Author Posted September 13, 2012 Here is some of her work on my guitar built by Aaron Cowles. Note the detail. I don't know if she still does custom engraving or inlays for Heritage. She may have recently retired.
Guest HRB853370 Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Notice she said she worked for "Gibsons" just like Marv did in one of his interviews!!
FredZepp Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Maudie Moore did the inlay work on the Centurion... The hummingbird inlay is abalone, although I didn't capture the various colors in these photos too well... And in the center of the flower inlay on the headstock, you'll find Maudie's intials...

The woods ,the finish, the craftsmanship...... stunning.

pressure Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 When I toured the Heritage factory in 1991 they had packed a station wagon with guitars in cases to be driven over to the engravers shop. I wonder if that was Maudies? If so that means guitars made in 1991 and before are Maudies work.
