I thought about buying that one and changing it to The Loop (Chi-Town), WDIZ (Orlando), or either WRIF / WLLZ (Detroit). It reminds me of L. Paul's log. Back to basics.

WLLZ brings back some memories!

yeah I have that gtr on my mind as well...who makes good "staple slug" P90's?

I see that you can get them through the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop.

Guitarplayntaylor,-you snuck that one in on me. Byrdland is my fantasy build....more specifically

H-576

23 1/2" scale

amber burst

cupids bow

abalone side squares (a la gretsch)

bound inlaid headstock

TPKs

faber everywhere

throbaks

this is the one not well thought out component....may not work on this guitar

Yep. That's Ray. That's the guitar we had a long GAS inducing conversation about at PSP. He's loving how it came out and couldn't contain his glee.

I think that would be an excellent addition to the lineup.

The fantasy is time and talent. I seem to have my choice of Heritages all ready.

(hey Kidsmoke, I had the pleasure of seeing/hearing Wilco last night, simply excellent, Tweedy did reach for a vintage Trini Lopez with a bigsby, that would be a nice Parson's build).

Prospect. No f holes. Vintage Wineburst. Bigsby with gold hardware. Ebony board with special inlays.

Multiple bound white binding. MOP headstock inlay. 5 piece neck natural shade. Stinger.

I think that's it.

Found out recently the Prospect and Academy model where named after streets in Kalamazoo.

Speaking of a Heritage "Byrdland", is this a...

- hollow body or a semi-hollow body?

- carved top or laminated top?

and what is the rim thickness?

Anyone know?

We talked about it for quite a while, and he said it's a Golden Eagle with a short board, which would mean ALL solid, Spruce top, maple back and sides, 3" rim, and hollow. I didn't press regarding other possible alterations.

That's awesome! Thanks!

I think mine would be really simple. Ever since I saw that Millie at the Factory, I finally found a Heritage that is calling to me... A couple minor changes, but that was it...

Basically no F holes and perhaps a bigsby.... Couldn't ask for more, except a thick 50's neck...

see if you can get one on extended loan to try out for a few weeks....that's my only suggestion....

nice choice. Skydogs guitar put me in a similar mindset. Sounds like exactly what you're talking about.
