koula901 Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 My neighbor just picked up a cool, I'm sure, antique, zither. Couldn't find a Heritage label on it. Does anyone know if Heritage has ever made a zither? Shufflin' off to Buffalo. May not be on line for awhile.
tulk1 Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Never saw Zither listed as an instrument made by Heritage. So ... no. Mandolins, Banjos, Acoustic Guitars, Electric Guitars. Think thats about it.
DetroitBlues Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Z-i-t-h-e-r. Just as I said. What is it?

GASguy Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 A zither is something like an autoharp, you can see John Sebastian playing an autoharp in the old Loving Spoonful tapes like, "Do You Believe In Magic' if you do a search for them and watch the tape.

FredZepp Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 I remember using this one for some background tone on a recording long ago... ( it's the red trapezoid shaped thing.. )
Trouble Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 I didn't know what it was either Detroit, I was kind of thinking along the lines of a scitar since the two words are a little similiar, so I was pretty far off.
DetroitBlues Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Looks familiar... Like something from music class when I was a kid.
pressure Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Try this link for the sound of zither music. Then drink a couple litres of beer while shouting "Siggy Saki, Siggy Saki, Hoy Hoy Hoy!" All involved will have a fab time.
