Guysparky Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 I am new here and still trying to figure it all out. I have never posted on a forum but here goes. I have always been a lover of the Heritage Guitars but have never managed to get my paws on one until now. I have been all over the web and cannot find another like mine. It has a Piezo bridge that is what the switch is for instead of a fourth knob. The serial dates it to 1988. Any Ideas, and thank you in advance.
eljay Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 welcome, guysparky! lotsa folks here, myself excluded, will be able to answer your questions about your 140.
High Flying Bird Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Look out man, somebody will talk you out of that 140. Or even worse you buy two more Kalamazoo guitars over the next 15 months.
Guysparky Posted September 23, 2012 Author Posted September 23, 2012 Thanks for chiming in guys! Bird, I have already bonded with her (the 140) this is one of the greatest guitars I have ever touched she is going nowhere. It is highly likely there will be more from MI in my future.
DetroitBlues Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 The piezo is probably something added to the guitar long after it's production. Nice find, congrats.
TalismanRich Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 GuySparky If you haven't looked inside the control cover, it might have some information about the guitar. It looks like a 140 that was modified, but then, the folks in K'zoo have been known to tinker with stuff just to see of it would work. Its possible they did this as a custom request, or as a preliminary attempt at something like the SAE system that was found in the Millennium series. Or it could be an aftermarket mod. Usually if they do something special, it's spelled out on the label inside the guitar.

You just keep telling yourself that. I joined earlier this year to learn about Heritages. Since then I've bought 4 and sold 1. And I went to PSP. It's an addiction. But a good one. Welcome to the forum.
FredZepp Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Welcome to the club. Yeah... check the label for any details. Also see if the wiring to the mini switch looks original and is the hole for it adapted from a larger hole for a pot. It looks like the piezo unit from an SAE model , I believe. So it's possibly something different that came from the plant that way..
