Kap Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Hi have had this H-150 for a while with the Bigsby, not sure how much it weighs, but I was interested to know what the 9 of 25 means. I realize it may have been a limited run, a custom job etc, but Heritage have not responded to messages, (understand they can't respond to every owner out there) but just in case if any one knows a bit more, or does any one have guits with other numbers in the sequence cheers http://i1066.photobu...ge/DSC_0749.jpg http://i1066.photobu...ge/DSC_0748.jpg http://i1066.photobu...ge/DSC_0746.jpg
High Flying Bird Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Look out momma! That's a Neil tool for sure. I think it is an anniversary run they a few years back. Don't e-mail Heritage. Call them early in the morning around 9:00 eastern time. 269-385-5721
FredZepp Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Check the label in the control cavity... maybe a clue there...
High Flying Bird Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 It looks like the 1st string isn't seated on the Bigsby right.
Kap Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 Eagle eyes!! I had been re-tuning and had not noticed, thanks. As per phone, its difficult as I am in Asia, different time zone completely (Hong Kong).
golferwave Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 According to the charts it's a 12 hour time differential. Call them at 9:00 pm Monday through Thursday your time.
pegleg32 Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 My matched pair 535/150 has a similar truss rod cover, in my case 16 of 25. Also a similar finish. Don't know if yours was part of a matched set or something else.
Steiner Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Here's a picture of mine: Wasn't that offered as a combo 150 & 535? 23rd anniversary?
TalismanRich Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Interesting 150 you've got Kap. What is the year (first letter of the serial #)? It seems to have more patina than a normal 23rd Anniv.
Kap Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 So there is a 535 out there that is a twin to the 150?
Kap Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 Sorry TalismanRich, As per serial number and inside cover, will need to get to the guitar a little later, I'm away from home for now.
bolero Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 that's a beauty!! I agree with the pair theory...most 150's don't come with a finished wooden guard, but I'm pretty sure those paired up 150 + 535 packages did really dig it....and you get extra mojo points for the bigsby
High Flying Bird Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Awesome! Factory installed bigsby! What's new about that Fart Blossom? A little Gung Fu talk on my part....
Kap Posted September 28, 2012 Author Posted September 28, 2012 High Flying Bird, shall do. As for the two you have with the Bigsby set WOW! beeutifull.
pegleg32 Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Here is a pic of the matched set. Don't know why one has white surrounds and the other black, other than that they are very similar:
Thundersteel Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 If memory serves me correctly, a few years ago Heritage offered 25 pairs of matching H150/H535s. A lot of those were sold individually, instead of in pairs as originally intended.
Kap Posted September 28, 2012 Author Posted September 28, 2012 So there are 25 sets of twins around the place, all seem to be the same finish just different body shape. The 25's family.
H Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Here is a pic of the matched set. Don't know why one has white surrounds and the other black, other than that they are very similar: Beautiful, Don
smaj Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 They were a limited run in matched set with a 535. I have a 150 that is like yours without the Bigsby. They have the upgraded woods package also.
Kap Posted October 3, 2012 Author Posted October 3, 2012 The variety of chips on the finish mean it is not a 'collector item' but it just feels so right and sounds as it should. Love it. Thanks to all for giving me a much better idea of the background to these guitars. cheers
Gitfiddler Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Bumps, scratches and dings give a gitfiddle mojo! My 150 is a true player, warts and all...and makes it to more gigs than any collector piece would. Your limited edition 150 is perfect as is, in my opinion!!
