H Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Iv been struggling to find a nice les paul for a while, I just havent been able to get on with Gibson's sound and feel. Im a strat man at heart but i always fancied a les paul or les paul style guitar. Ah, now I see the Tele connection I love Teles too
steve1991 Posted October 2, 2012 Author Posted October 2, 2012 Ah, now I see the Tele connection I love Teles too Its difficult, the Tokai is lush, its an early one with a beautiful nitro refin showing off gorgeous sen ash grain. But this 150 is a Les Paul that i dont immediately pick fault with as i do with Gibson.

I'm sure you'll come to a decision soon If it's the 150, try putting some SD Phat Cats in it for another amazing sound. If it's the Tele, tell the 150 owner to advertise it on this forum. There are plenty of European members who'd be very interested, I'm sure. Good luck with your deliberations
bobmeyrick Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 ... it was thrown out of the window by an angry wife... Now THAT'S what I call relic-ing! Seriously, £650 is an absolute bargain.
tulk1 Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Not sure what 650 would relate to in the failing USD$ right now. But that is one gorgeous Heritage specimen. With a belly cut!! Nice. Hope you keep it and join the ranks here. Altho' I can certainly understand the draw of a Tokai Tele. Especially if it's an older vintage.

I think im going to go for the 150, its got a great sound and a great neck. I can get a great telecaster any day but a good Les Paul doesn't come along often....for £650. Plus you folks have swayed me
gpuma Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Great choice! Welcome to the addiction. This is the healthiest addiction I know of
JohnCovach Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 If you want to brighten that 150 up, TV Jones Filtertrons will go a long way. They make a version that drops right into a humbucker ring.
steve1991 Posted October 3, 2012 Author Posted October 3, 2012 Well folks, Heritage have confirmed its a custom job, which makes it a pretty darn unique guitar in my eyes. Its a strange mix of features from the Ultra, 157 and Deluxe.
