smurph1 Posted October 4, 2012 Share Posted October 4, 2012 So I've got this ancient beat up 59 Gibsonette amp that I dearly Love!! About 12w thru a 10 inch Jensen.. Just volume and tone controls A tech friend of mine sold me some blackplate RCA 12ax7s for it and some other old tubes for the power section..I don't really remember what they are, Sylvanias maybe? But anyway he says "As old as this thing is, the caps are proabably leaking on it.." So he goes to an electronics store and gets the caps for it..I stopped in this morning and he showed em to me..Then he pulled the back off and Lo and behold, brand new caps!! I forgot that I had it re-capped after I bought it..(Senior Moment..) DOH!! Sounds killer with those NOS tubes though.. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
