knopfler74 Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Hi All, I have a 157 that was built in 2011, and I'm looking to change the bridge on it without altering the studs. I'm assuming it's Gotoh bridge because it looks like it is. There's nothing non-standard about this 157, so I guess my question is - does anyone know what bridge ships standard with a 157? My bridge is the locking type (allen screws on the bridge and stop tailpiece. Any help would be greatly appreciated! M
TalismanRich Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 New Heritages come standard with Tone Pros hardware. It replaced the Schaller hardware several years ago.
DetroitBlues Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Yep, Tone Pro's... Standard stuff. Schaller fits on there as does Gotoh...
dbetts41 Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 I guess my question is what would you want to change it too? The tonepros stuff is about the best out there...
knopfler74 Posted October 6, 2012 Author Posted October 6, 2012 I guess my question is what would you want to change it too? The tonepros stuff is about the best out there... I think you're right on this point; however, my particular bridge has a couple of not-so-good end holders for the adjustment screws for intonation. (the ones on the aft end of the bridge. They're loose, and they make it less than easy to adjust intonation. I could literally buy the same bridge and it would be fine. I think they were fooled with by the previous owner, and I'd like to change the bridge out in order to prevent an issue down the road. The guitar holds it's intonation extremely well now, but over the years adjustments will of course need to be made, and this bridge just doesn't inspire confidence in me at this point.
