Dougee Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Could someone that has a Prospect tell me what kind of Sponge (hard, soft, etc.) and exactly how you installed it in the Prospect to control the feedback some?? Thanks for your time and expertise!!!
DetroitBlues Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Any kind of material you can stuff in there should work. Malcum Young uses socks to stuff in his White Falcon...
bluesgolfer Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Any kind of material you can stuff in there should work. Malcum Young uses socks to stuff in his White Falcon... Heard essentially the same thing. Professional player that I know stuffs socks in the f holes.
schundog Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Wear the socks for 4-5 days straight, then stuff them in the f holes. You won't believe how funky you'll get.... Other than that, I got nothin'..... I find my Prospect to not feed back, unless pointed directly at the amp, and then easily tamed. YMMV.

Hey schundo, I'm still laughing, LOL I've got a new Prospect Custom And a H535 coming my way!!! Used to have a ES-335 but read and heard all the youtube sounds so I figured with both of them I should have some Good Tone!!!
JohnCovach Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I bought some heavy material at the local sewing shop and used that. It helps to have the material you put in the guitar be one piece, so that when you need to remove it you don't have to go fishing around for several pieces inside the guitar.
tulk1 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I've used natural sponge in my Prospect since getting it. Cuts the unwanted feedback ... doesn't effect the tone at all.

DetroitBlues Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 http://www.dougsplugs.com/ Thats really cool!
tulk1 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 You must have some high gain/high stage volume to get feedback... Not really. It's just a weird effect from standing facing a monitor. Sounds go in the F-Holes, and sounds come out of the F-Holes. What would happen most is Tracy's vocals would make the guitar resonate/vibrate. Seriously, it would flex along with her voice. Stuck some natural sponge in it and poof!! Feedback gone.

Wow, that's weird! Never had that issue with monitors...
BrianToth Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 I just put in some foam rubber left over from an egg crate style mattress pad.
