MartyGrass Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I swapped out the 59s for HRWs on my H157. A Heritage affiliate luthier, Pete Moreno did the work. I asked him to find a HRW toggle switch cap if he could. Well, he couldn't, so he made one. He drilled out the top of a black cap and super glued a white fret marker in the hole. It looks fine. It turns out this is how Ren Wall did these at Heritage. I did not know this. The HRWs seem okay. The neck has that subtle chiminess. The bridge pup is a little mellower, maybe because it's a bit lower. I need to use them a little bit to figure them out.
Gitfiddler Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Thanks a lot! Now we'll be seeing a bunch of Chinese knock-off HRW pickup selector switches on Ebay!
Tallershadows Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 This you put this up to torment me? Just kidding. I kind of like the chrome screw and gold cover look.
Kuz Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Thanks Mark, I never knew that was how Heritage made the HRW toggle switch.
HANGAR18 Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Thanks Mark, I never knew that was how Heritage made the HRW toggle switch. Yea, and now I want one. hahaha
bolero Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 that looks great!! I sometimes wonder if I should have ordered a 157 with a finish that shows off the wood more....your 157 is gorgeous
