Balladeer Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 My 1999 H535 came with Schaller pickups. I replaced the Schallers with Seth Lovers and new pickup mounting rings. The bridge pickup rout seems to be sufficient for the Seth Lover's long legs. But the bridge pickup sits higher towards the neck and lower towards the bridge. In other words, the pickup angle is not parallel to the strings. The pole pieces are on the bridge side. This prevents me from setting the pickup as high as I would like. Does anyone else have this problem? How did you fix it?
Buckyrock Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I have had this problem. I stuff some foam rubber (grey-black squishy stuff) under the pickup on the bridge side. it take a few attempts to get it right, but it works for me.
mars_hall Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Sometimes people put the springs in backwards when the shape of the spring is conic. If they are cones, the bottom of the cone should be closest to the ring. i.e the cone should point at the body of the guitar.
Kuz Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Sometime if the braided wire has excess and is not pushed down in the pup cavity correctly, it will cause the pup to be pushed to angle.
