Now that I have downsized significantly, what would be a good little, and I mean little, solid state amp to put in my living room if I want to play my Heritages while sitting on the sofa? I used to have living room space for a full sized amp, but no longer. I need very minimal wattage, and I need a low price!

Slammer, I'd hold off for a Little Lanilei: either the 1/4 watt or the 3350LT model. I have one, Kidsmoke has one. They're well built boutique 6 pack size tube amps. Every now and then I see one come up on eBay or C-list in th $200-$250 range.

I hate to admit this (since I'm a tube snob), but Tracy just picked up a Fender Mustang III. And it sounds great. At all volumes.

While I STILL want a Mustang III, I can't help but be perpetually impressed with my little Mustang I, both in volume and tone. I got it used at GC for $50. It's a PERFECT companion for watching football whilst noodling away on the couch/recliner. Good Luck!

Several years back I picked up a Peavey Audition 110 in a trade and it turned out to be a very good little practice amp. Still have it and still use it. Another option could be the Roland cube series. Those are fine SS amps too.

But that is through an acoustic guitar, correct?

dig the Lanilei, but I find it doesn't do clean real well, and It can be a bit pricey. I think the Rolands are a GREAT value, and a micro cube is super small, and can run on batteries....a great thing for travel...camping....sealing a Craiglist guitar transaction in a parking lot......

I highly recommend the ZT Lunchbox. 200 watts in a 9 pound box. It works well at low and high volumes. It's super clean sounding and it's built like a tank. It also takes effects well.

True enough on the Lanilei, but I get decent cleans at lower volumes on mine. Certainly at living room listening levels.

Have you plugged into the foot switch? It works well, but still a little dark...

I have a foot switch. I haven't noticed a change in tone other than it switched the gain stage between either the low of medium gain setting and high gain.

Is that what you meant?

nope, plug your guitar straight into the footswitch jack. Per Tris. Bypasses the pre soak or something. Clean tone. No gain control, and the gain selector switch has to be set to low. He shared this when I called him to ask about re-tubing.

I didn't know about that. I'll give it a try.

By the way, have you come up with a Y adapter to use the TRS effects loop port? If so, what?

Best bang for the buck...Fender Mustang or Roland Cube...

Been there had both (Mustang III & Cube 80XL), I'll take the Roland any-day.

She plays an ASAT on about 5 songs. Works perfectly for her.

Good girl, G&L is great!

PSA:

ZT Junior combo $115.00 at Hello Music. add to that a $5 first time buyer coupon, and you're getting a crazy loud true lunchbox size SS amp for a song.

X2 on the Peavey Audition 110 - sounds real good.

The Audition would probably be fine, but I am now leaning towards the Rage158. They can be found used for around $50-$70. 15 watts, transtube (which I like) and made in the USA. PV you can never go wrong with. Their products are pretty indestructible.

I've played the mustang, so I like those. Many here like the cube, so I mentioned that too.
