Hi guys,

I'm curious if Heritage makes the the 535 with long tenon standard or is that a custom order request?

Thanks!

All 150s and 535/555 are made with long tenon and have for about 1.5-2 years.

The only semi-hollows that aren't are ones fitted with P90s because they can't hide the long tenon from the top of the guitar.

But, yes, they are using long tenons.

Does that provide a sonic difference John? Or is it purely structural?

Thank you! As always, you are a wealth of information!

Not to me, but for the people on the Les Paul Forum they have one less thing they can say about how a LP is superior to a 150.

Bottom line, according to Marv... "Perception is reality and if that is what the people want we will give to them. But if there is a good strong neck joint, it doesn't make a damn bit of difference either way."

Terry McInturff told me the same thing. That it is how strong and secure the neck joint is so vibrations can be amplified down the body. If the former is true, the length of the tenon doesn't matter.

FWIW, I heard PRS guitars have the longest tenon.

"...it's long enough."

"Size doesn't matter..but length does"!!
