minervadreaming Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Hi all, Yesterday I picked up the finest guitar that I've ever laid hands on, my new Hall of Fame 535, #25 of 25. Here are some pictures Here is an audio sample demonstrating the different pickups selections Here is a take of a song of mine played all the way through, all on the neck pickup I went into the shop on Saturday, with my girlfriend, to pick up another of my guitars that they were doing some work on. My girlfriend said, "Wow, you should get THAT one, it's gorgeous!" and pointed at the Heritage...it had just been put out on the floor on consignment. We were on our way to a party/jam so I didn't have time to play it, but for the next couple of days it wouldn't leave my mind. I went back to the shop Monday night and plugged it in; I played one chord and got the shivers and goosebumps all over. That hadn't happened in twelve years, since I picked up the guitar that has been my main ever since. I went home and told my gf about it and she actually convinced me that I should go back in and buy it, somehow to make it work, and I did yesterday at lunch time! So jazzed (......har...)! I was up way too late last night jamming on it. Anyway, happy to be part of the Heritage club! It's a superb instrument and I feel very lucky to have found her.
DetroitBlues Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Sounds like you have two keepers... A fine Heritage and a lady that encourages them!
2bornot2bop Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Congrat's on the HNGD! Love the truss rod cover "25 of 25."
fxdx99 Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Congrats - a beauty for sure. And if it speaks to you, then it's it, eh? Seth's in a 535... secret weapon. Shhhh.
kidsmoke Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Congratulations! Sounds like it was meant to be. That's a special guitar. Doesn't know if it wants to be flamed or quilted.
PunkKitty Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 You have great tastes in guitars and partners. Congratulations and welcome to the forum!
minervadreaming Posted October 24, 2012 Author Posted October 24, 2012 Thanks, all - I feel really fortunate for this to be my first foray into the world of Heritage guitars. I have the feeling it won't be my last!
blueox Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Congratulations! You went all the way with that one.
Spectrum13 Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 There are more great models too, Excellent start.
skydog52 Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Welcome aboard. You have a great one there. Nice playing!
TalismanRich Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 An excellent choice, Minervadreaming. The 535 is a superb guitar. I've played the #12 Roy Clark a while back. Very nice. I pulled up the song that you did with it, and that's some great picking.
koula901 Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Minervadreaming, Congrats on a gorgeous guitar; and I love the sound clips you uploaded - very nice tone and composition.
GASguy Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Drop dead gorgeous!!! You can't go wrong with Seth's in a 535. And as a fan of Roy, I watched quite a bit of Hee-Haw in my pre-teen years, and I saw him live six or eight years ago, I am totally jealous Congratulations!

First, most guys dont have girlfriends that would give guitar purchase advice. Second, most guys wouldn't listen if they had girlfriends that did. Sounds like both worked in this case. Good grab. Whats that say on the top of the label above Heritage Guitar, Inc.? Rkins Fam or something like that? So is the Roy Clark basically an autographed 535?
minervadreaming Posted October 25, 2012 Author Posted October 25, 2012 Thanks for the compliments, that's my go-to piece for playing new guitars and getting the feel, you know? Slammer: On the label it's written, "To the Perkins Family" and signed by Roy Clark. I bought it from Ken Perkins, at his shop. It's an autographed 535 with a Roy Clark headstock like on his signature model.
