best GE I've had yet...man this archtop acoustically sings! and ever so pleasing is the neck profile is identical to my former SKB. What a pleasant surprise!

That's in excellent shape and in a classic finish.

It's an older GE. I can tell by the detailing. That was before Heritage started to cut costs on the GE.

Yes, she's in ridiculous shape for a '95...I can't find a ding on her. The voice is remarkable.

Hey Greg,

Nice Eagle, I swear that is the identical twin to my '93. I'll pm you some pictures. You may want to talk to Kent Armstrong about having the pickup replaced as we discussed. That really is a beautiful guitar, congratulations.

Okay, this is gonna sound weird. Last nite I left the guitar out on the table and this morning I got up and it's sproutin' branches all out of the top...anyone know of a fix 4 this?

Just jokin'...the Mrs. made that tree of life table with her own two hands...well, from plain unfinished maple...all the images were burned in with an iron, and then stained...complete with 8 chairs of course...took her a year to complete...the things got 2 sets of leaves that of course extends the height of the tree...she's pretty talented huh! Yeah, we all know who the R'tist is under this roof!

I see something far more sinister. It looks like this poor, frightened Heritage is about to be sacrificed in a satanic ritual.

That is one big table.

I could never get tired looking at that guitar. I doubt I would ever get tired of listening to it also.

Well, now that you mention it the Mrs. does have a sadistic sense of humor. Shhh....don't tell her I said that.

Ha, and that pic's w/o the 2 leaf inserts...it looks real cool with the tall tree...I'll have to add a pic later.

Um, what cost cutting on GEs? I thought quality control and components had generally improved over the years.

The binding on the old ones has two more layers, and there's a MOP inlay on the back of the headstock.

At least some of the new GEs have bridge bases with feet. Last I heard they are still using those bases.

I don't dispute the quality claim. It seems to be as good as ever.

I think the less the adornment, the better the guitar sounds. All of that extra binding and inlays can actually dampen the vibrations of the top. The best a guitar will sound is without binding and inlays. For what it's worth, it sounds better without the finish. Trouble is, you won;t want a guitar that looks that plain and without protection.
