Hi guys,

Just wanted to thank all the forum members for the wealth of information that they provide for us first-timers to Heritage. My 535 is currently on order with Jay. I spoke to Ren a few times this week, and we utlimately decided on a "Full 'C'" shape neck with .850 at 1st fret and .950 at the 12th fret. The neck was fitted to the body today!!!!

Here were the final specs:

(1) S.D. Antiquities with modern wiring and the other typical Wolfe specs re: Pots and Caps.

(2) All nickel hardware everywhere, including nickel Tonepros Nashville locking bridge and nickel (brass) stop bar as well as Grover Keystone Rotomatic tuners in nickel

(3) Bone nut with guitar set up for .10's

(4) A comfy R9 C-shaped Honduran Mahogany neck, the R7 and R8 have very broad and squarish "D" shoulders, which are a little too big. FYI, all 535's have a long tenon.

(5) The Wolfe vintage pickguard in translucent black

(6) The Wolfe thinner Nitro finish (5 instead of7).

(7) A darker OSB finish around the edges that progresses to lighter amber(yellow) in the middle of the body. The current one's I see don't have the dark edges. I requested a subtle shaded neck that goes from dark in the low frets to medium-dark (certainly not amber/yellow) in the middle register and then back to dark in the high frets.

(8) Bound headstock to match the rest of the binding on the guitar (cream). Inlaid "The Heritage" on the headstock. Later, I'll do something with the truss rod cover.

(9) Weight under 8 pounds.

Thanks again guys! I'll definitely post pics when it arrives!!!

Spoke with Ren this morning. She's (i.e. the guitar) just waiting on the Antiquities to arrive. Sweet agony!

Well... She came in last night. Since she came from Jay in Florida and it was nearly 5 degrees here in NJ last night, I kept her in the case overnight, did an air exchange this morning.

Initial impressions, fantastic workmanship and finishing. Tonewise, I need to mess around with the Carr Rambler's settings. Not quite as airy as I had hoped for out of the box...

There's nothing quite like your own custom built guitar from some of the best builders on the planet!!

Congratulations on a beautifully executed dream guitar!

Play it in good health.

How much extra are the antiquities? I know you can swap out pups but was wondering what the upcharge was. Feel free to PM me if you would like. Thanks

Thank you for all the kind comments. To be honest, I couldn't have done this without this forum! Thank you.

Fit and finish really are suberb, right up there with my Taylor 814. Perfect OSB finish in my opinion. The picture does very little justice. Just the right amount of flame too! The neck is very, very comfortable. It's sounding better by the hour, tweaking the Rambler really helps. I'm getting great robust tone with plenty of overtones. Nice lows, mids, and highs with good balance and note separation. The G string might need some tweaking, might be just a touch muted compared to the rest.

There are a couple hiccups though, I ordered nickel tuners and got aged plastic. But they look good. I also can't tell if I got nickel Tonepros, which I asked for, or if they gave me chrome instead. The bridge and tailpiece are sooo shiny, hard to believe they're nickel! Waiting to hear back from Jay.
