TheDr Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 I have a 1985 (B20505) Heritage CM 140 That has a Carved Mahogany top. I was told it is a one off guitar. Can anyone prove or disprove this?
mars_hall Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Look at the label within the control cavity. All mahogany would be a H140M, whereas curly maple would have H140CM
DetroitBlues Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 The first prototypes were all mahogany, so it's not a one off, just an early example.
DetroitBlues Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 You've got your answer, so tell us about yourself and this fine piece of Heritage craftsmanship you have in your hands?
TheDr Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 My name is Bob, known to my friends as Doc. I had a dozen Heritage Guitars but sold my 555, 575, Stat Standard and one of my 140s. I now have a CM150 Delux Limited Edition (89), H140M(85), SAE (89) Sweet 16 (89), Stat Deluxe (89), Heritage Bass (89), HFT 445 (88) and a 535 (89). Alos a 78 Firebird, a 62 Gibson B-45-12, a 57 Strat a 55 Tele, 3 Ovations, a Dobro and two vintage Danelectros, last but not leaste a Gold Tone Banjo. I would be interested in trading something for a Golden Eagle, if there is one oout there looking for a new home.
PunkKitty Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 It sounds like a really nice collection, Bob. Welcome to the forum.
