erbasvizzera Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Hi, i'm new on the forum. I have buy a fantastic Heritage H157 with serial L08103 Someone can tell me what pickups have? Thanks!
SouthpawGuy Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Hi, looks like they may be Duncan Seth Lovers http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/electric/humbucker/vintage-output//sh55_seth_lover/
DetroitBlues Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Those a great pickups. Probably my favorite Duncans...
erbasvizzera Posted November 10, 2012 Author Posted November 10, 2012 Wow, great! Many thanks for the info! Is the first Heritage for me and im very satisfied!
erbasvizzera Posted November 10, 2012 Author Posted November 10, 2012 I have a question. If i use middle selector pickup and turn little down the neck volume the coil split?
golferwave Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 I have a question. If i use middle selector pickup and turn little down the neck volume the coil split? No, you have 2 lead wire pickups and in order to splt the coils you would need 4 lead wire pickups with push pull pots or toggles.
erbasvizzera Posted November 10, 2012 Author Posted November 10, 2012 I tell this, because i have hear a difference sound when i use middle selector and neck volume at 7 tipical at split sound.
rockabilly69 Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Nope that's what happens in the middle position, and that is my favorite tone when using humbuckers. I just roll back the neck pickup until I hear the clarity, which is usually between 7-8 on most setups.
erbasvizzera Posted November 10, 2012 Author Posted November 10, 2012 Yhea! Is that sound, less bass and thin. More versatile guitar! Sorry for my english. Im italian. Have a great sound. Today when i go to buy a gibson i have see this guitar and sound very good better than a new manufactured gibson.
bolero Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 wow, you did well, that is a killer gtr & those are great vintage sounding pickups!! ha...you'd need at least custom shop historic Gibson to get near the same level of quality. and even then, my money would be on the Heritage welcome to the forum, and congratulations
Blunote Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 I hope by now you've had a chance to educate yourself on the history of Heritage. What you have is a guitar that most of us here feel is more representative of the early Gibson classics than what is currently produced under that brand name. Your guitar was built at the original Kalamazoo Parson Street plant using the same machinery, fixtures and methods of the original Gibson craftsmen.
erbasvizzera Posted November 11, 2012 Author Posted November 11, 2012 Yhea the shop seller tell me this about production of this guitar. But i have try a gibson custom white of '81 and sound killer, but 2450 euro is too much. The heritage is better in quality price and manufactured between the production of recent gibson.
TalismanRich Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Welcome to the HOC. 157s are great guitars. It was my first Heritage almost 10 years ago. Since then I've added a few Heritages to the collection.
brentrocks Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Welcome to the HOC! I love my H 157 as well!!!
golferwave Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Oops. The picture in the previous post was of my H-150 P-90 before I put in the mini humbuckers. Here's the proper picture of my H-157LW P-90
mtpatty Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Q: If I have an H150 with an ebony fretboard, isn't that really an H153.5? A: Lol
Gitfiddler Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Oops. The picture in the previous post was of my H-150 P-90 before I put in the mini humbuckers. Here's the proper picture of my H-157LW P-90 That black P90 157 is killer!!!
erbasvizzera Posted January 1, 2013 Author Posted January 1, 2013 Hi guys, happy new year! After the H-157 i have found and buy a '96 H-150 special, beautiful! Here
H Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 That's nice! That V join of the maple flame is unusual for Heritage I think. Most Heritage tops I've seen join the flame pretty straight.
golferwave Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Another beauty! Congratulations on the newest addition to your Heritage collection!
Blunote Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Hi guys, happy new year! After the H-157 i have found and buy a '96 H-150 special, beautiful! Here That's got a pretty ultra looking top for a Special.
