Telenic Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 There's an interesting Heritage vs. GIbson discussion going on on another forum, thought folks here might be interested. http://www.jazzguitar.be/forum/guitar-amps-gizmos/25341-gibson-vs-heritage.html
Guest HRB853370 Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Interesting comments. No real Heritage bashing OR Gibson bashing, just folks stating their preferences. I see Patrick2 calls himself a Heritage representative? Whats up with that?
Blunote Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 ^^I always thought he was employed by or was a rep for Heritage Guitars.

Guest HRB853370 Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 He is the East Coast Heritage Rep, and has been for 3-4 years. I have talked to many Heritage dealers on the East coast and asked them outright about if they have a rep. The answer I always got was that they dealt directly with the factory and never any mention of a rep.
HANGAR18 Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 I didn't think Heritage had any "reps" besides us here in the HOC.
Gitfiddler Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 That's a fun read over at the Jazz Guitar Forum. It reminds me to not take guitars and gear too seriously. Just think if they had a Violin Forum back when old Strataverius (sp) was hand making his famous violins. What fun they could have had!!

The answer I always got was that they dealt directly with the factory and never any mention of a rep. There are regional reps that manage orders for their customers. That system hasn't always worked well and has broken down at times. There's plenty of blame to go around- the dealers, the reps and the business inefficiencies of those elves at the factory. Often dealers would skip the rep and probably still do.
DetroitBlues Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 That thread was interesting. Wonder how accurate the math was? Quite a bit on there that wouldn't pass our moderator QA test...

Trust me he is a rep and he just received some demo Heritages for dealers to try. Since he was kicked out I have to contact him directly to get some info about Heritage Guitar Company. He was the one that told me they use long tenon now, new finger-style bridges, tap tuning education, ect. He most definitely is a dealer, there was a reason picture of him holding an acrchtop at the factory a couple of weeks ago.....

There are plenty between Maine and Florida. So first he is a rep, now he is a dealer. Ok, I get it, but frankly, don't care. Hey, I held some archtops at the factory too, August 3rd and 4th!!

Oh, forget it, I don't care since you don't care.

Read your previous post. You stated he is a dealer. And yes you are correct, I do not care, nor do I care to discuss this any further with you. "He most definitely is a dealer, there was a reason picture of him holding an acrchtop at the factory a couple of weeks ago..... "

"He most definitely is a dealer, there was a reason picture of him holding an acrchtop at the factory a couple of weeks ago..... " Then I know when to call myself out. Yes, I miss typed he is most definitely a Rep (not a dealer) that is my fault. But WIll let's be honest, YOU were the one who asked, "I see Patrick2 calls himself a Heritage representative? Whats up with that?" so you do care because you asked the question first, right? Then I answer your question, albeit with the typo of "dealer" instead of "rep" and then you say "Ok, I get it, but frankly, don't care." SO maybe you didn't like the answer or maybe that it came from me. PERSONALLY, I would like to stop all this negative attitude around here. I will promise to do my best to be more understand and positive toward you if you try the same with me. SO deal or not deal to bury the hatchet?
Kuz Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Kuz... Love that avatar! Thanks, I twas Rockin' the barn!!!
iim7v7im7 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 John, I used the Elderly Instruments definition of Excellent condition and provided a link (http://elderly.com/vintage/abbreviations.html). For the price that he is paying, I hope he doesn't get too crazy on a 12 year old instrument that has been well taken care of, but played. I am guessing that UPS 2nd Day Air, insured, signature service will cost me ~$150 so I will be lucky to net $2,150. He should pay the 3% PayPal fee correct not me (e.g. He should pay $2,369 and not $2,300)? The VA looks like this: :-) Bob
High Flying Bird Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 He is the East Coast Heritage Rep, and has been for 3-4 years. Kuz, did he do alright during the storm?
Kuz Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Kuz, did he do alright during the storm? Yea, I guess he is only about 1-2miles from the coast, there was a lot of flooding but somehow it didn't reach him.

I agree John, its so easy to get defensive (me included) behind a computer. No further discussion needed on this one.
