brentrocks Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 My first Heritage was a 1999 H 157, trans green....i have tried to find it but i cant remember who i sold it to...it had a monster top and it was a hefty muther.
bolero Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 yep, still got it...'94 H150CM in Cherry Burst I remember walking into the music store & seeing it surrounded by the usual suspects: Gibsons, tele's, strats, an SG junior, there was even a '59 Epiphone Coronet hanging on the wall, like Steve Marriott used to have had never seen a Heritage before, but a tale of woe from my amp tech ( he sold a Heritage to buy a Gibson and regretted it ) had stuck in my head I tried it, and was sold!! I still consider it my #1
pushover Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Yup.. I've still got her.. She's black, she's bold, she's beautiful. Totally awesome to play. Still the guitar I always wanted to own, and somehow I do.
gpuma Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Interesting that the two oldest "first one" seem to be both a 88 Stat Deluxe.
FredZepp Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 My first girl was this 93 GE purchased from Jay at the Tampa Guitar Show (remember those?) in the summer of 93. In a fit of insanity I sold it, and it is now owned by Gitfiddler, though maybe by me again one day...More pix in my gallery. BTW, these pix were taken on the balcony of my then-home in Mississippi. Sadly, Katrina reclamed this property and it is no more... Beautiful pics... both.. front and back.

tulk1 Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 This was my first Heritage - 2005 H157 Classic OSB. Was buying some tubes from Doug's Tubes when I saw this beauty. My nephew had an older H150, so I knew how good they were. And I was familiar with the Heritage story. And the price was more than reasonable. So, it came with the tubes. Turned out I wasn't as enamored of it as I thought I'd be. It was heavy, and I didn't really care for the SD59s. But it sure were pretty! Older member Cosmicdebris got it in 2007.

That GE has the acoustic voice of a musical cannon. She was my second Heritage purchase. And yes, you still have visitation rights as well as dibbs.
DavesNotHere Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 '86 Stat, she's my first. This one would be the last to go. However, I have been spending a lot of time lately with the new girl on the block.
koula901 Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 My first was the this lovely 150 in an almost VSB color, but she was obese and I couldn't carry her, so I had to let her go.

SouthpawGuy Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 An '07 535 with Duncan '59s in golden amber, bought new. Still have it.

You know I remember the day I took that picture over ten years ago. Late afternoon sun breaking through the oaks in the backyard. Me being ultra careful about NOT touching the brick wall with ANY part of that guitar. The way the quilted maple glowed in the magic hour sunlight. Glad the guitar has found a great and deserving home. May make it your way one day yet...Thx Tim. Ron
DC Ron Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Forgot to add...a feature I always loved about this guitar was the way they made sure the headstock wings were quilted as well. Obviously the subject of much care during the build.

HANGAR18 Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Dammit Will, now I have to tell this story... My first Heritage (of the 4 Heritage guitars I've ever owned) is the black 2004 H-157 that I had with me for the PSPV group photo. http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/uploads/gallery/album_394/gallery_679_394_17845.jpg I bought it from a guy on Craigslist who had a wife who was making him sell all of his boutique guitars. The guitar was, and still is in mint condition and the only mod was a push/pull switch volume control which was added by a custom guitar place in Las Vegas. He was asking $1200.00 and I didn't have the money at the time but I emailed him my contact information and told him to keep in touch with me in case it didn't sell and that I needed time to raise the money. Time goes buy and one day I send him an email telling him I've got $1000.00 so far and asked if that was close enough. He said yes. We meet in a particular parking lot, me in my F150 and he in his SUV with wifey in the front seat and young son in the back seat. We're chatting away behind his SUV's hatchback after we do the transaction when the young son pokes his head up and says, "Daddy, I thought that was going to be my guitar when I grow up." Doh! Awkward. I felt kinda bad, at least for that reason if nothing else, I don't think I could ever sell it because it was that kid's inheritance and at least I know that as long as it stays with me, it will remain a cherished instrument. 2004 H-157 Black Pickups: Humbuckers Bridge - Seymour Duncan APH-1B Neck - Seymour Duncan 59N Tuners: Grover Finger Rest: Flame Maple Wood w/ White Binding Weight: 9.5 lbs.

Good story Danny. I think I have also seen that guitar posing in some unique settings, if you know what I mean! I remember when I sold my Nissan 300ZXTT. My daughter said to me, "Daddy, you promised that car to me when I got my drivers license". I felt bad afterwards, so I ended up buying her a used Camaro when she got her license!

Yea, the thought did occur to me that if that kid and I should ever meet again in life, I pondered what I might say to him. After deep reflection on the whole matter, I thought I might say something like, "Sorry about your luck Kid, this b**** is mine!" lol! [Oh man, that's just wrong. I'm a bad person. ]

bobmeyrick Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 My first Heritage, which I still have (and am unlikely to get rid of) is a 2007 H535 in Almondburst, with HRW pickups and Tonepros bridge and tailpiece. I bought it new from High End Guitars - the one I originally went to look at was a 535 VSB with SD 59s, which was OK, but when I tried the HRWs, I decided that was the one for me!
