I was giving her some lovin tonite (after she sat lonely in her case since before we moved to SC). She really responded well to my touch, my feel, and my fingers. In fact, her top was vibrating quite nicely once I warmed her up. Her bottom was deep and resonating and the more I played with her, the more she moaned. I need to quit ignoring this lovely lady and pay more attention to her beauty.

I do have a 535. As a matter of fact, two of them John! Go back and re-read what you typed! I am gonna enroll you in typing classes for Christmas!! I had that 525 BEFORE I became 90.9% gas free, so there!!! Shundog would not part with his; you refused to sell to anybody except Lyle, so I had to go out and get one for myself.

Yessir, 525's can offer up some seriously sensual tones!

That's a sweet one, Will.

Is she strung with roundwounds or flats?

Tim, its got 12 gauge Elixir Flats on it!!

We agree with TWO things this!!!! I do need to proof and learn to type more accurately!!!

I also think that flats sound best on 525's. They warm up the P90's for wonderful jazz tones. And the tones change rather dramatically depending on your picking position. Amazing instruments.

Me not having any interest in selling my 525 was evidently to your benefit, Will! While I love my 525, looks wise, mine doesn't hold a candle to that beauty! Thanks for the pics.

When I had my 525 I LOVED flat wounds on her as well (yes, I know.... now Will and I have agreed on 3 things this year). But in all seriousness, I REALLY loved flats on my 525, but Lyle hated them. So to each their own, but I think flats are at least worth a try if you are looking for jazz tones or old 50s blues tones.

Yes, we are setting a record John! Wonder what Lyle did not like about the FW's? Whats not to like about them? They are easy on the fingers and sound incredible. And you are dead on about the tones!!

That is a real beaut! I've never played one, but it looks like a really comfortable instrument.

Very comfortable instrument Keith. Light too!

I didn't know you had a 525, Will. Gorgeous!

I keep secrets Katy!

Will, I agree with you totally about the easier playability of flatwounds. And I really, really liked the complete lack of noise as you slide your fingers up and down the strings. No more inadvertent screeches as you move to the next chord.

But I wasn't crazy about the tone. Particularly the tone of the low A and E strings, which, to me, just sounded like dull thudding rather than musical notes.

No doubt sonic beauty is in the ear of the beholder. I'm much happier with roundwounds on my H525.

And yeah, you've got a beautiful one there.
