HANGAR18 Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 then sprayed some CRC contact cleaner into the jack hole. Presto! No more jack noise. Where do I buy some of that stuff? I've got one pot on this Strat I'm assembling that makes noise when I move the dial.
High Flying Bird Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Radio Shack if you have one close by. Lowe's or Home Despot might have them.

yoslate Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Umm, clean it how? Spraying contact cleaner in the hole? Regarding just cleaning, Will, wrap some fine grit sandpaper (600 +/-) around something cylindrical, slightly smaller than a regular wooden pencil or the jack itself (1/4 inch). Insert that into the input, an inch or more, and move it in and out a few times, gently. Then hit it with electrical contact cleaner. Sounds as though you may have a sketchy solder, though.
yoslate Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Oooops! Sorry...just noticed Brent's post. Uh...what Brent said....

Walmart carries CRC cleaner. Screw Radio Shack or Home Depot, they charge too much for everything. I followed that procedure exactly and guess what? Jack is fixed!
