Back In The Fold

So after suffering some financial duress, I sold my H137 here to Number 8, leaving me bereft of any Heritage guitars. Well after having the jones for a "proper" semi hollow (I own a Hamer Newport) longer than I can remember -- and then actually playing a H535 recently -- I sold some more stuff to fund the purchase of one. My search located this little beauty mere moments after being posted by Music Go Round.

It's a 2008, with Duncan 59's and weighs only 6.3 lbs. The salesperson was well versed in Heritage and when they got this guitar, he compared it to a '78 ES335 in the store and said the 535 just blew it away. Of course, I'll never know. :-) The only mark and sign of wear is a tiny ding in the headstock. No pick marks, no fret wear, etc. He sent me a bunch of pics. My only hesitation was that it isn't red. :-)

Anyway, this is perhaps a bit premature as I've yet to touch it, but I'm excited to be back in the fold. Can't wait to get my new baby!

Gorgeous, I love the burnt amber color!!!

I just saw that one on the MGR site yesterday. I forgot to post it here. But that's okay. It's good to see that it went to a HOC member.

sweet!!

looks like a monster. 6.3#'s?? That's more than a pound less than mine, after I pulled the grovers for klusons, and a steel tail for an aluminum one! mine came in around 7.7#'s . That's a featherweight. Sounds great!

For how much PK? I never see them at the MGR in Atlanta!

Yeah, I was suspicious, but he said he weighed it himself. I'll believe it when I wear it!

This was $1299 plus $50 for shipping. From what I've seen, that's their standard price. It's less than what I see private parties asking...and certainly less than eBay.

Hugh, that's a nice looking 535. Very clean, and the color is great!

6.3 lbs seems a bit light, Mine is 8.1 lbs, slightly heavier than the Millennium. Maybe the TonePros is lighter than the Schaller hardware. In any case, they don't feel that heavy when you play them. The balance is usually excellent.

Nice score!

No better guitar to (re)start your Heritage collection with! Welcome back :)

OK, it's official. I brought my new baby home last night. It's very resonant and plays like a dream. I don't know if only 6.3 lbs as I was told, but it's pretty light -- lighter than my Hamer Newport, which is smaller and has small center block. I took it out of the case and my wife just kept saying, "Man, is that gorgeous!"

This was a good find and a good price. I'm glad to be back, officially. :-)
