Hello Heritage owners,I just aquired a new old stock H 150 in gloss black with cream p 90s from a reputable guitar shop closing down .I bought it unseen but from reliable shop. The digit on head stock for the year of manufacture was too smudged to read, so I guess its about 2009 .What I found is that the top E B strings are somehow not set right and I get wrong notes on fret board when tuning guitar notes are sharp. So how do I dio a set up on a hard tail model??.I did not find any written info on internet.Any leads? The guitar is new but has tarnished tuners and one shop suggested that a new set would be better than trying to [polish them but I think not.So has anuone used chrome clearner to revitalize there tuners?and if so what polish was it? I hope every thing else on guitar is ok have not plugged it in yet as I need a new amp.I tried to post a picture of it but web site did not accep its size.

The saddles should be adjustable for intonation. Also if it's a wrap around, there should be some Allen screws you can adjust the wrap around tailpeice to the post.

YouTube is a good source to help get you started.

Adjusting intonation is done with the adjustable bridge. The tuners being tarnished should have nothing to do with the tuning. Look at this Youtube video.

Before you attack this, you'll want to make sure that the neck is set up correctly with the proper relief and string height. After this is done, then set the intonation as the last step and you should be ready to go.

As for posting pictures, the preferred method is to get something like a photobucket or Flicker account. Put the picture up there, and then copy the link to the JPG file. Click on the little picture frame (below the smiley face) and paste the link to the picture into the little window. It will show up as a picture.

We have several Australian members. Check and see if you are anywhere near one of them.

Welcome to the HOC.

Take it to a reputable guitar tech if it is that bad. I wouldn't attempt it if you are not experienced at it as you could make it worse.

I'll have to disagree with our esteemed colleague (Slammer).

If you've figured out how to change a tire on your car, you should be able to adjust intonation. Just follow the instructions in the video that's been posted or google for other instructions. I'm sure you'll do fine.

I somewhat agree Bluenote, but their are other factors in the setup besides intontation. For example, you are assuming the OP has the proper tools and gauges to determine if the neck has the correct relief, which would be the starting point. I am sure you already know this, but a proper guitar setup is a combination of many adjustments and settings. Changing a car tire is pretty cut and dry, if you have a jack and a lug wrench and a spare. I was only saying that for the uninformed, weak of heart, or inexperienced, better to leave the complete setup to the experts.

I can agree with Slammer when it comes to setting relief and truss rod adjustments. Intonation is easy to do, and if you mess it up, the worst you have to do is have a shop do the adjustment correctly. You can't damage anything.

Truss rods can be damaged if tightened too much, and sometimes its difficult knowing when the issue is too little relief and when the issue is fret leveling.

Good point, Rich....
