Guest HRB853370 Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Screw the amp. I want to know what wood you're going after. There's only one thing better than a pretty Wife; a pretty Wife that understands the passion for guitars and amps. I too look forward to your thread. I think he was referring to the Queen of England.
bigsbytp Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Had no idea these kits were available....just checked the net...lots there. With good instructions too.
H Posted December 30, 2012 Author Posted December 30, 2012 I'm not building from a kit, Floyd, I'm buying all the parts from different suppliers. A kit is a great way to go for the first one. After that, it just seems a bit restrictive, like painting by numbers
Steiner Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 What; no English walnut photos??? Is this to be a cleaner sounding amp than The Limey? Have you selected a name?

There won't be any walnut this time around, I'm afraid. For the moment my budget is a bit strained so I'm focussing on the chassis internals. It will be a very clean sounding amp, hopefully like a mini Twin. It's the H-O-Lux
H Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 A taster for the build thread I'll be starting soon: the cab for the new H-O-Lux It's 3/4in pine with dovetail joints. Still needs cleats, back panels, tolex and grill cloth. It's being built for me by my good friend Jeff McMurray at Bandmate USA in WI.
Steiner Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Nice. is it a front loaded cab? It looks like there's a frame on the cab that will provide room for the speakers out front. Is it to be tolexed? A red snakeskin perhaps...
H Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 I'm not sure whether the chassis loads from the front, back or both! Yes, tolex will be going on soon I'll leave the colour a secret until I've got pics
smokedtires Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 BTW, I love when people build their own things
