plexirocker 68 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Thought I'd post something that may help other Heritage owners. I have a recent Les Paul Jr. with the compensated stop tail/bridge combo that only intonates o.k. Been driving me nuts so I've done battle the past couple of months to find a clear winner IMO After several popular alternatives glad to report this one is the winner. Not only is the intonation spot on but it just sounds way more alive. Definately brighter than the stock bridge which was "dark" sounding or muddy. This newer bridge sounds much more " alive" with great overtones and a clarity that the old junior bridges have, less moving parts than a pigtail or Badass Wilkinson by Gotoh made in Japan All Parts # TP 3691-001 Nickel plexi
DetroitBlues Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 I've seen those. Good to know it worked out for you!
bolero Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 hey that looks pretty slick, if I ever get another stoptail I may get one, thx!!
Kuz Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Those are the only wrap around bridge that Terry McInturff will use. He say the ones with individual saddles wobble & buzz and are tone suckers.

plexirocker 68 Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 1.Bad Ass bridge, 2.wilkinson lightweight- it has the wilkinson logo stamped on it 3.tone pros 4.pigtail 5.standard Gibson issue bridge plexi

Or, rather, how did it compare the Wilkinson you chose?
plexirocker 68 Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 The wilkinson lightweight wouldn't "square up" with the string alignment, so I couldn't get it to intonate right because of the break angle on the bridge. It wouldn't work for my guitar because these studs aren't parellel, they are ever so slightly a little off with the low E side farther from the pickup than the high E side The All parts # for this bridge is #TP 3691-001 nickel plexi

Did you use the studs and/or anchors that came with it, or tone pros, or something else? thanx
plexirocker 68 Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 I got the tone pros locking studs in STEEL, I think they help a lot as it takes out that forward lean and has a very precise string break angle over the bridge plexi
plexirocker 68 Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 The best way to adjust intonation on this bridge is adjust the low E and get it right by moving it either foreward or back, then the high E side using the screws, same as above. Then once those 2 points are set adjust with the allen wrench the A/D section then the G/B section plexi
bluesgolfer Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Just got my Korina H-137 back from the Luthier. Put the Wilkinson on with steel tone pros studs and it intonates perfectly. Sounds great. Great tone. My luthier really liked the Wilkinson, said it was high quality. Highly recommend this bridge. Thanks Plexi for the advice.
