DetroitBlues Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Hard to say. But they are hard to find... So perhaps it's right...
eljay Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 lots of "booteek" pickups sell for $150 a piece or $300/pair. given their comparative rareness, i'd be all over that deal.
Gitfiddler Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 The max I'd pay for a set of HRW's is $250...and that's because I like'em. Anything less I'd consider a bargain, especially for a gold plated set.
Number8 Posted December 8, 2012 Author Posted December 8, 2012 Wow. We're all over the map here. Where's Brent?
DavesNotHere Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 I'm thinking it may be on the high side of what I might pay, but by no means a rip-off. Not a steal either. .
Millennium Maestro Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 There was a set of chrome that sold for 350 on ebay which has kind of set a precedence for people selling in the $300 area and a trend of guitar being scalped for their HRW pickups! I know of another recent HOC transaction where a buyer paid 190$ for coverless HRWs. I also know they are getting hard to acquire so if sellers can ask $300 for a no longer produced guitar case, why not ask more for no longer produced pickups that are highly desirable in certain circles! I know one thing, they will sell, regardless of what we think!
tbonesullivan Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 If they are what you want, you'll pay for them. Basic market economics. They are also discontinued, which influences things.
gpuma Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 300 is more or less in line with the prices I have seen them going for in the past, maybe slightly on the high side but not a rip-off at all
