Balladeer Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Last August I bought a 1999 H535. It came with Schaller pups, roller bridge, and a tailpiece where the strings are retained different then a standard string-through tailpiece. I replaced the pups with Seth Lovers. Yesterday, I replaced the tailpiece with a Gotoh aluminum tailpiece from Stew-Mac. All I had to do was unscrew the original studs and screw-in the Gotoh studs. The tailpiece fit perfectly. I have it screwed down to the body. There is now more definition to the notes, especially the wound strings, and more sustain. I'm very happy with this H535. It looks good (almond sunburst), plays nicely, and sounds great.
James535 Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Nice, this is exactly what I have planned with my bridge. Test fitted a Gibson one I 'borrowed' from my SG last string change and aesthetically was a huge improvement. I'd be interested to see some pics too!
JohnCovach Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 M8 or 5/16 size? My guess is that it's the M8 size that fits the Schaller bushings.
