Eyegore Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Spent the afternoon putting on straplocks, lowering the action, changing strings etc. What an awesome guitar. (note the knobs...um...mine goes to eleven!)
Steiner Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Eyegore - didn't that hump used to be on the other... Never mind. Nice guitar! And porn already within your first 5 posts; impressive. Welcome to the collective.
Spectrum13 Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Good place to start your collection. How does it play and sound?
Eyegore Posted January 6, 2013 Author Posted January 6, 2013 Probably the nicest sounding guitar that I own. (I am mostly a Les Paul guy, but have been gassing for a 335 style guitar for some time) Its got Seth Lover pups, my first experience with them, they are great. The action was pretty high when I got it, but now that I have adjusted it so it is just above the buzzing level, it is sooo nice. The neck is great, I think that I will call it a '55 neck. Fatter than a 335 60's neck, but not quite a 50's neck. Just right. I figured that I had to add pictures, or it didn't happen.
Genericmusic Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 A very fine instrument you have there. Congratulations.
golferwave Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Fantastic! A real beauty! Welome to the HOC!
Guest HRB853370 Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Very nice. So where did you acquire this beauty? Inquiring minds want to know!
skydog52 Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Welcome aboard and you picked a beauty to start with. 535s are very versatile!
Gitfiddler Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Excellent entry ticket to the HOC. The '11' on the volume knob is a nice touch. Seths are great p'ups for that vintage sound. Play it in good health.
High Flying Bird Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Wait until you feel the air moving out of the f-holes on your arms. Then you will know. I played my 535 tonight and felt the breeze. Welcome aboard.
H Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 That's a great way to start your Heritage collection Take a look at the H-150s, you'll be knocked out by those too... Welcome to the HOC!
Gillnetter Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Wait until you feel the air moving out of the f-holes on your arms. Then you will know. I played my 535 tonight and felt the breeze. Welcome aboard. +1
campfire Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Beautiful! +1 on the finish. BTW, what is the official name of that finish? Thanks, and congrats.
