Number8 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I went to my local git shop (Heritage dealer) today to chat about a few things and I asked about the cost of a new 575 (because my GAS is hopeless and untreatable). He gave me his estimates but then qualified it by saying that he's pretty sure that prices are set to go up after the NAMM show (or as of 2/1 perhaps). Just an FYI...
gnappi Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Two things you can always count on... taxes and everything else going up :-) I'm an impulse buyer, if I see something I like, I try to get it then and there. Sometimes this is good if prices go up, sometimes bad if my bank account is low and something not guitar related comes up that needs money!
MartyGrass Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I don't think their list prices have changed in 24 months.

Guest HRB853370 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Ridiculous to worry about prices. But in this economy, and as long as we are ruled by a Democrat, small companies are going to suffer, and so is the middle class.
HANGAR18 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 It's a general rule about everything that the new model *year of insert product name here* usually sees a price increase. Not always but quite often. I can think of at least one product that doesn't usually see a price increase every year so there are bound to be others too. But overall, I think that Heritage prices did increase a few years ago and then seemed to level off a bit. I'm just speaking in general terms and the new course of the economy as of January 2013 may cause a lot of prices to change in the near term.
PunkKitty Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Eh. I only buy used unless I get a great deal.

Hfan Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 If Heritage can raise prices on new instruments without adversely effecting sales good for them. I would like to see the company prosper and survive for the long haul and retain their independence. The Heritage guys deserve to earn what they can. This comes to light for me after seeing what happened to Hamer. For those of us on a budget, the used market ain't bad. Kind of funny how many big makers are using Asian imports sold domestically to survive and Heritage is benefiting from sales in Asia.
HANGAR18 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I wonder what is driving the demand for Heritage guitars from overseas? Is someone over there doing some advertising on a non-English language or something? Whatever it is, I wonder if we could do that here. But then if the orders for Heritage guitars doubled, would they be able to keep up with that demand? I'm not looking for answers, just kinda thinking out loud.
