schundog Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 There has been a fair amount of acoustic chatter around here lately, and it reminded me that I hadn't picked up my 445 in a couple of weeks. I pulled it down from the wall, gave it one strum, and was instantly reminded of how powerful a sound this thing produces, vibrating the whole body as you play it. What a joy. Brent, if you sell the one you just picked up, I'm going to have your head examined, haha. I did a quick recording with it, but it doesn't accurately depict the sound of this thing. That, and I obviously need to play to a click track/drum track, as my timing is pretty poor on this. Anyway, please post pictures or clips of your 445 if you have them. If any of you think I'm crazy, hopefully you can find me on a stone bridge in Southwest Michigan this summer, and, if you promise to treat my girl right, I'll let you play her for a song or two to see for yourself what I'm talking about. http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=12147109&q=hi
Guest HRB853370 Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 My fat rear is going to be taking some real estate on that bridge this August Dog so you may have to arm wrestle for space.
brentrocks Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Hey...do you guys have 13s on your 445s? I put Martin 13-56 phosphor bronze on mine and i'm wondering if that might be too much tension for this guitar?
schundog Posted February 4, 2013 Author Posted February 4, 2013 I've got 12 Cleartones, Brent. Works for me.
schundog Posted February 4, 2013 Author Posted February 4, 2013 The three Heritage acoustics in this photo were all Brent's at one point: 1: The 445 he's playing that he has since sold. 2: The 445 that he sold to Big Bob that HE sold to KBP810 that HE sold to DetroitBlues that HE sold to Me; 3. The 450? that he sold to KBP810 that HE sold to somebody. The 445 Brent has NOW is yet another one, haha.
chico Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 I like thinner strings on mine Brent, I think I put on GHS 11's

According to this page, changing from 11s to 13s increases the tension from ~150lbs to ~185lbs.
DetroitBlues Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I've got 12 Cleartones, Brent. Works for me. +1!
