H 535 bridge pick problem-Please Help

I bought a used 2011 535 several weeks ago and am extremely happy with it. I'm suspecting the guitar had very little play time on it. After a couple weeks the bridge pick-up stopped working. It took me about another three weeks to get it to a tech for repair. I had checked the pick up daily to see if by chance it started working.

About an hour after I dropped it off the tech called and told me the bridge pick up was working fine. I asked if he could shake the guitar, try it laying flat, trying it in normal playing position, etc.. He said he tried everything to make it not work but without success.

Of course, you can anticipate the rest of this story, as soon as I got it home I tried to play and the bridge pick up wasn't working.

What I'm wondering is if anyone can tell me what they suspect the problem might be. The next tech I take it to, (and it will not be the same tech), may benefit from some advice from the members of this forum. Could be as simple as just being a bad switch? If it is, how easy is to change a switch in a semi-hollow guitar? Who makes the best with?

Thanks for your help.

I hate those head scratchers. You could take the pickup loose from the surround while still leaving it wired up and see if you get any different results while moving it around. If not that then it would almost have to be in the wiring or switch.

Also check the bridge PU volume control.

Sometimes, just spinning it back and forth will clear out the dirt

Try the contact cleaner as well
