totonka Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 This mandolin is absolutely gorgeous! I love it! Great condition for a 26 year old instrument. Little spots of wear/scratches on the top and a bit of wear on the pointed head pieces. Looks like someone liked to play it, but not too much.
Guest HRB853370 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Nice mandolin, have you played before?
Keith7940236 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 That is about the coolest thing I have ever seen!!! Congratulations
rockabilly69 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 I play mandolin and have always wondered how good these Heritage F style mandos are! Let me know what you think! Are you an accomplished player? Do you have experience with many other mandos?
FredZepp Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 absolutely awesome ! Congrats on a superb instrument. I can imagine your excitement.. it is something special.
totonka Posted February 4, 2013 Author Posted February 4, 2013 Nice mandolin, have you played before? I play mandolin and have always wondered how good these Heritage F style mandos are! Let me know what you think! Are you an accomplished player? Do you have experience with many other mandos? Nope, never played before. I think it sounds fantastic. I sat right in front of Sam Bush and heard him play and have listened to others play Loar signed Gibsons that cost more than my house. I don't know where this falls in with those, but it is not objectionable at all. I've seen other on the Internet opine that they did not like the sound, but others that love it. I have heard mandolins I did not like, but this is not one of them.
skydog52 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Way to go Victor! That is stunning and in incredible shape for an instrument that old. Congrats
pegleg32 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Very nice looking. It just looks like it could play itself. Love that Heritage workmanship.
ridethatbike Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Extremely cool! I don't know anything about playing mandolin either, but it is intriguing. Good luck with your journey!

Guest HRB853370 Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 This was the one down in Nashville at Gruhn. Wait a minute. This story just cannot be true! Northern boy from Wisconsin finds himself in Nashville. He hears of a cool guitar shop in town called Gruhns. He wanders in and suddenly, the instrument of his dreams, a Kalamazoo made mandolin is staring at him! Northern boy takes mandolin home to Wisconsin. Does this get any better?
schundog Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 That is a fantastic looking piece, Victor; Congratulations! Enjoy your new adventure, and make sure to get a picture this PSP with that headstock and Fred's Centurion. They would make quite a pair.
Guest HRB853370 Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Who's from Wisconsin??????? My bad, I meant Cleveland Ohio.
