H Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Once these get a little more reasonably priced I'll get one.
Gitfiddler Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 When I was a kid (before I had a job), drugstores and some supermarkets used to have tube tester machines that were either free or dirt cheap to use.
Steiner Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 When I was a kid (before I had a job), drugstores and some supermarkets used to have tube tester machines that were either free or dirt cheap to use. AND they had RCA blackplate 12AX7s for under $1
Guest HRB853370 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Seems like a good idea. Only if you have tube amps though...

I remember those Tim!!! I guess that was when most radios and TV's employed tubes!! Sigh- so glad we have Solid State amps now!!!
t0aj15 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 $499 retail. If we all pitch in $10... Are you serious? I spend that much every year re-tubing amps and I know I have a box full of tubes that ain't dead.....I just need to be able to sort them out. This thing is a dream come true for me. I just need to find out where to buy it. Thanks H for the heads up, for me this is MONUMENTAL !

And there's even a solid state tube tester for my friend Will! Haha! http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313&_nkw=tube+tester&_sacat=0&_from=R40
