Seems like a good idea.

When I was a kid (before I had a job), drugstores and some supermarkets used to have tube tester machines that were either free or dirt cheap to use.

Sigh- so glad we have Solid State amps now!!!

$499 retail. If we all pitch in $10...

Are you serious? I spend that much every year re-tubing amps and I know I have a box full of tubes that ain't dead.....I just need to be able to sort them out. This thing is a dream come true for me. I just need to find out where to buy it.

Thanks H for the heads up, for me this is MONUMENTAL !

There seem to be a bunch of old tube testers on FeeBay for a lot less than the Orange model.

And there's even a solid state tube tester for my friend Will! Haha!

That may be, but most of them are so old how can you possibly trust their reliability and/or accuracy?

I agree it seems pricey, I thought you could get used Hickock ones for $30 on ebay

I wonder if it is as good as the old ones?
