David Paul tragedy

I cannot even imagine; I YouTube'd a couple of his videos, he's a very talented player. I hope that, somehow, he can pick up the pieces of his life and move on.

Edited to delete personal and political ramblings of a Dad who had gotten too little sleep this past week...

Here's a close up of David's signature guitar from Heritage. It shows a plaque by the bridge that can also be seen on his videos. Now I know what it says.

"Prototype and Signature Guitar Model 001

For Little Dreams

& For Big Dreams

Jacqueline and Joy"

When they were killed in the accident he decided to never play that guitar again.

Sad.

I hope he recovers & continues playing music

I would be devastated as well

ah, interesting thx Marty!

appears to be a thinner H550? it must have a block down the center?

It's two inches instead of three. It also has a maple block running from the neck to the rim for added sustain. Yet it only weighs 10.1 lbs.

I had some interest in the guitar, but there are issues. The sellers believe David Paul will soon be famous and that he has or will soon have a major endorsement from Gretsch. So they believe the guitar has much value as a collectible.

The obvious question is, if it's such a great investment, why not hang on to it? When I see gold and silver commercials on TV I wonder why the employees and announcers don't buy it up. Of course it could be that they are broke. But if they are so smart, why are they broke?

Anyway, the guitar has some dings and gouges in it. Plus David drilled two holes in the top near the cutaway to put some sort of plaque. If you are buying it because it's David's guitar, you can't really complain that he didn't take better care of it.

If they'd drop the price it could be a nice one to pick up.
