.....about the Lollar P-90 pickups.

My son has a reissue single cutaway Gibson Les Paul JR. with a stock pickup. At best the guitar sound is average and the guitar itself has been disappointing...very heavy and hard to play.

....and I have an Orville by Gibson double cut TV Yellow Les Paul Junior that feels like the real deal 50s juniors I have played. It sounded pretty good but I wanted more.

A friend builds custom guitars under the name KingBee and he suggested Lollars.

I told him I was looking for Leslie West.

He got me an over wound one and installed it.

.....the guitar straight into a Budda Twinmaster with the amp at 12:00 was definitely "Mountain Climbing" tone! .the guitar volume at 5 or 6 was good and crunchy for rhythm. work and 8 for solos....dimed was creamy and full...this was thru the gain input. (The normal input was clean and chimey.)..never in my life.

.....as a side note I had always heard good things about Lollar pickups but for some reason was hesitant to buy them.I am glad now that I did.

FWIW ~I've had a Korina Newport with 3 p90s ~ 2 too many ~ nice guitar though. I've had a few Gibsom CS Specials ~ sold them all. One too many pickups. I've had a couple of CS Jrs ~ sold a TV white, kept the sunburst for awhile. Then sold it to a guy in Germany a few months ago. BIG MISTAKE! Those things SCREAM! And so easy with 1 pickup, a volume, and a tone God do they howl! Around $1200 - $1500 bucks used. I'll get another. Never tried a 137 though. Good luck in your pursuit ~ I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever you end up with! :glasses2:
