PunkKitty Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 This is a 1985 Heritage H170 that I bought from Brent. I got this yesterday. After playing the Duncan Blackbacks that Brent installed I decided that they weren't going to work for me. So I installed a Gibson Burstbucker 1 & 2 set in it last night. It's a player. The finish is worn off a bit on the back of the neck. But it plays like butter. But it will probably see a refret in it's future.
kidsmoke Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Those Blackbacks are making the rounds...maybe a candidate for one of your semi's that need a kick in the pants. Did you find them a bit hot? I like the zebras in this guitar, kitty, and the thought of a worn neck is very appealing. Can't wait to run those 57's though s-dogs Tweed.
PunkKitty Posted February 14, 2013 Author Posted February 14, 2013 Did that Blackback set come from you, KS? The bridge pickup was too hot and dark sounding for me. The neck was too bright sounding for my tastes. The Burstbuckers work much better for me.

koula901 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Congrats PK! I like those double cut, w/easier access to the higher frets. Enjoy!

y2kc Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Beautiful example of a great Heritage model. If you are ever up north of the city give me a shout, I would like to see that guitar. y2kc

PunkKitty Posted February 14, 2013 Author Posted February 14, 2013 Even better news on this one. Brent said it was about 9 pounds but it seems lighter to me. I just weighed it. It's 7.4 pounds on my scale. That's perfect for me.
Gitfiddler Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Congratulations, PK. I bet BBuckers sound killer in that git.

PunkKitty Posted February 15, 2013 Author Posted February 15, 2013 Brent., I think I like this one more than any Heritage I've owned.
schundog Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Monica, we'll have to compare our "formerly Brent's 80's 170s" this weekend; I bought a 1988 170 from him 2 years ago this month, and am bringing it up to Chicago. It rocks mighty hard with it's "lowly" Schaller Pickups and hardware.
