H Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I had a Vox Night Train NT15 until recently - had to sell to partially finance my Vibrolux Reverb build - and I'd recommend a Vox/535 combination
rockabilly69 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Early Silverface Deluxe Reverb or Princeton Reverb. They are great amps that work well on their own or with pedals and sound sweet with pretty much any guitar! If you can't find one at reasonable price, Vintage Sound amps are a modern alternative with the same tone! I have heard their Princeton Reverb style amps and they are great! http://vintagesoundamps.com/
LoneFurrow Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 Wow, thanks for all the suggestions. I'm now swimming in a sea of ideas Dan, thanks for the link to the Vintage Sound amps, I haven't seen those before. It's amazing how many boutique amp builders there are out there.
JAM Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Swart STR! Seriously--you'll thank me later. When I had my 555, I used it with a boost pedal, and it sounded AWESOME! +1K !! Michael Swart makes an amazing product... though spendy it's on my wish list. cheers! Jim
jazzam Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 I play my custom shop 535 through an Evans JE-200. Best amp I've ever owned...
