My new-to-me Eagle was just delivered. I'm in Chicago and it's pretty chilly outside. I opened the case, took the guitar out for a moment, placed it back in and closed the case. How long do you suggest I wait before re-opening and playing it? 30 minutes?

Please be careful. The damage might have been done the second you opened it up the case. Please send to me and I'll it a though once over for you. :laughing11:

BTW send some photo's when she warms up.

i would wait 24 hours. you really want the temperature and moisture levels to equalize as slowly as possible. also you can get condensation all over the metal parts if you aren't careful, which can be annoying.

This is ESPECIALLY important with hollow and semi hollow guitars, and those finished with nitrocellulose. Your Eagle is both of those things.

Your wood and finish check because of rapid temperature and / or humidity changes. I wait for the case to get slightly cool to the touch, then pop the latches and allow the case to sit, cracked for another hour or so. Usually under 4 hours or so.. The time depends on how well the cold soaked the instrument. More cold = more time.
