Heritage525 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I'm looking for a brighter toned guitar. I am thinking Phat Cats and laminated body (to help avoid feedback). Kinda want a "spankier" tone. Your opinions and input is welcomed and necessary! 575 / 525 Not quite sure what size body I want to go with Body Even flaming on wood Laminate maple White binding Bound F holes Pick guard w/ binding *Wineburst or fireburst Neck Sized like G&Ls #1 Binding, white Ebony board Arrow inlays Headstock Binding, white Arrow inlay The Heritage, pearl script Stinger Sperzel locking tuners, pearl knobs Electronics / other SD Phat Cat pickups Bridge, set Vol / tone knob, black witch hat Amber switch tip Trapese tail piece
skydog52 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Sounds like a winner to me. Bound f-holes is a nice touch.
SofaPlayer Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I don't know if laminate sounds spankier than solid wood. Does it really? I would rather say it sounds muddier. The Phat Cats are probably a great choice. However, if you can find a set of Duncan Phat Staples, they might be even more to your liking. I don't have any first hand experience with staple pickups but it seems that they sound as fat and twangy as can be. Arrow inlays on a 575 or 525 - is that even possible?
