bolero Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I was reading up on Zal Yanovsky, who founded The Lovin Spoonful with John Sebastian but left the music industry in the late '60's to become a restaurateur on youtube was watching a clip of Zal & John, it looks like John is playing a Heritage? what is that, an Eagle? oh...here's another one:
bolero Posted February 17, 2013 Author Posted February 17, 2013 wow, he's got a natural as well...kudos to John, he's got great taste great picker too!!
koula901 Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Yup . . . that headstock is unmistakable! He looks good after all these years!
GuitArtMan Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Back in the late '90s early 2000s I attended Winter NAMM as a guest of Heritage guitars. Guess who's badge I got. John Sebastian's, no joke! I got some strange looks walking around the show that year!
High Flying Bird Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 A guy at the airport in Kzoo said he meet John Sebastian going through there with a Heritage guitar back in 2007. Probably the 137.
bolero Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 both these guys were great fingerstyle guitarists, hanging out with ppl like Dave Van Ronk when they were working as unknowns!! here they are in '65, playing LIVE which must have been rare back then as most footage I've seen from that era was synched...they sound tight as a band! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29Aq6G2UoFU cool video montage of my fave song by these guys http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mA0jLqCM5Q
