killerblues Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Hi everyone, I have a lefty 2001 H-550 in chestnutburst. I am trying to find out what the bushing length and resistance values of the potentiometers are. Can anyone help me with this? thx!
H Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I'd take an educated guess at 500K pots with short shafts. Beautiful guitar
rockabilly69 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Short shaft, 500k, and .022 capacitors (.015 on the neck pickup if you want to clean up a muddy tone).
killerblues Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 thanks for the replies. I want to throw in a set of duncan seth lovers to see if they would be an improvement over the schallers. One of the tone pots is noisey so I figured a good quality set of pots would be in order since I'm doing a pickup swap. thanks again!
H Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Let us know how it goes Are you doing the work yourself? Not an easy job but very do-able if you have patience
killerblues Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 No I have a tech that is going to do it along with a setup. May be a while he is in the process of moving to a new location and isn't taking on new work at the moment.
SouthpawGuy Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Awesome lefty 550, love the chestnut burst !
killerblues Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 thanks! I got it used in '05 and gigged with it for a few years. it is now my around the house guitar as I can't gig regularly anymore with my arthritis. Plugged into my tweed pro at low volume is total relaxation for me.
