LucSulla Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I contacted MartyGrass to ask a question about an H-157 on the Bay. He had an alternative suggestion... My first real guitar that I bonded with was an alpine white, 88 LP Studio that had an ebony neck and trap inlays. It got stolen about two weeks after I put Seth Lovers in it back in 1999. I've always had a soft spot for the color scheme and have wanted to have something similar for ages, so I am really happy to have this guitar.
Guest HRB853370 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Do you know Lance (aka Big Bob) who is also in Gainesville? Lance is a special ed teacher and a heckuva nice guy! And he has some fine Heritages too.
LucSulla Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 He sent me a message. Hopefully I can catch him play sometime soon! It would be cool to meet some folks from here in person.
bolero Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 wow that's a beauty!!! black fretboard binding, too?
LucSulla Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 Thanks all! I figured the H-150 needed a friend... and now I need a second job, haha! These guitars are habit forming.
chico Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 there is something about a white guitar up on played up on the stage as seen from the audience perspective. congrats on your new 157!
big bob Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 A nice choice, can't wait to hear it in person.
brentrocks Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 These guitars are habit forming. thats one way of putting it....lol
rockabilly69 Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I'm on my third now:) And all of them have had some great traits!
LucSulla Posted February 26, 2013 Author Posted February 26, 2013 The next thing I get when I am in shape to do so will be a Heritage 535, 555, or a Hamer Special with P-90s. I want to eventually get one of the Heritages and the Hamer either way, so it really just depends on which I can find the best deal on when I have some more money. I'm also always about halfway eyeballing another H150. I LOVE Les Pauls, but The 150 GT I bought back in Jan is just so much more guitar for the money that I haven't looked the Big G's way since then. It makes precisely the sound I want from a LP, and it smells nice to boot :-D.
SouthpawGuy Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Not too many white 157s out there, looks great !
