yngwieaddict Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Hello I want to buy a The Heritage guitar for my birthday (I'll be 40 soon and would like some information about the different models. What is the difference between H150 and H157? What means "OWS" & "CSB" version ???? All the neck have the same (back) profile? I was looking for a gary moore model, but it seems impossible to find, so I will buy a brand new one (see pic, it is a 150 OWS)... This one looks killer. Sorry for my "newbie" questions, but I have to learn a lot with this brand. All the best Pierre
DetroitBlues Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 150 is a Gibson Les Paul Standard and a 157 is a Les Paul Custom.... Best way to compare it..
yngwieaddict Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 OK thanks, I only notice the binding as differences, thanks. Neck are the same ???
Guest HRB853370 Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 OK thanks, I only notice the binding as differences, thanks. Neck are the same ??? Depends Pierre, there are variations. Plus you can custom order The Heritage and get the neck curve you want. CSB is cherry sun burst OSB is Old Style Burst
SouthpawGuy Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 The 150 has a rosewood board with trap inlays, and the 157 has ebony with block inlays. The 157 has gold hardware, although there are a few with chrome / nickle. CSB is probably cherry burst, ( ACSB Antique cherry burst ) Finishes here...... http://www.heritageguitar.com/finishes.html The picture you posted looks like it may be Old Style Burst ( OSB) although it could be Antique Burst ( ASB). They can look similar.
yngwieaddict Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 I didn't know that you can custom them...But delay should be long.... I try a 150 some years agao and the neck was delicious, thin and smooth, really good !!!!
DetroitBlues Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 OK thanks, I only notice the binding as differences, thanks. Neck are the same ??? Necks are as you ask for them... If you're ordering, tell them what you want. I want to do the same thing for my 40th birthday...good luck and congrats...

Sorry for my "newbie" questions, but I have to learn a lot with this brand. All the best Pierre You picked an excellent way to celebrate. For my 50th, I marked the event by getting the H157 in Almond Sunburst. The neck is not especially fat. I like the ebony on the board, and the gold hardware. At the time, I was just getting back into guitars, and this was my first Heritage. I didn't know at the time how much they could be customized. If I were to order one today, it would probably quite different, although the look would be similar. The details are everything.
rockabilly69 Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 This one looks sweet.... http://www.gbase.com/gear/heritage-h150cm-2013-vintage-burst or this... http://www.gbase.com/gear/heritage-h150cm-2013-vintage-wineburst Always ask for the accurate weight as Heritages seem to be pretty heavy by nature!!!

Sorry for my "newbie" questions, but I have to learn a lot with this brand. All the best Pierre The one in the picture you attached appears to me to be an H150 in Old Style Burst (sometimes called tobacco burst). The bound wood pickguard and bound headstock are upgrades. Very beautiful cap on that one. I'm also guessing it's a fairly late model since it's showing something other than Schaller pickups. Neck carves after 2008 or so, seem to be chunkier than earlier ones that typically came from the factory with Schallars. My 2010 looks a lot like it and has what I'd call a medium chunky neck. My other Heritages are pre 2006 and have the slimmer 60s style carve.
H Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 That's a nice 150, Pierre! Bound wood pickguard and a bound headstock too. The guitar reminds me a lot of mine.
JAM Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 You guys are giving me some serious GAS !! Beautiful Guitars ! cheers! Jim

H Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 My playing style doesn't require one, Dan, and this is a guitar style I don't think benefits. Too much lovely wood!
yngwieaddict Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 That's a nice 150, Pierre! Bound wood pickguard and a bound headstock too. The guitar reminds me a lot of mine. I really love this kind of mapple top and color....Really awesome !!!!!!! I'm looking for a "cool" neck, 60" profile, that's very important...I can play a 60 neck, but can't a std LP neck.... here are the 2 guitars i can buy : https://www.manisguitarshop.com/de/gitarre/solidbody-gitarren/the-heritage/the-heritage-h150-ows or https://www.manisguitarshop.com/de/gitarre/solidbody-gitarren/the-heritage/the-heritage-h-157-cm-vintage-sunburst :-)
rockabilly69 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 My playing style doesn't require one, Dan, and this is a guitar style I don't think benefits. Too much lovely wood! Yeah I play mostly with fingers so I may hold out a bit longer:)

yngwieaddict Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 I prefer this one too.....Killer color and mapple top, even if it is not ebony fretboard... Wait for the weight ^^
SouthpawGuy Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 If you haven't done so already check out Harr Guitars ... http://www.haarguitars.nl/import/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=43&Itemid=70 Realguitars in Germany also have a couple of 150s http://www.realguitars.de/htm/electrics.htm As for weight my 150 is 8.2lbs and the 157 is 9.4lbs, both are 2003 models.
yngwieaddict Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 This one is terrific but sold if I remember...
golferwave Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Both of the Heritage's from Mani's are superb! I'd take the H-157 if the weight and neck profile were right, but you could not go wrong with either one of them.
